To the Market

This morning we made our way to the popular downtown market.  We don't get there as often anymore as it is not as close to where we live, but is definitely worth the trip.  The variety of items offered makes it almost impossible to choose what to get.  Today was a mixture of oysters, salmon, watermelon, corn, tomatoes, Hungarian bread, and German pretzel rolls.  It is celebrating 100 years this year, which to me is amazing it has withstood our ever changing city.  I can't wait for dinner tonight. - P

Summer Garden

Aside from bike riding, running, and other activities that are high on my list of great things to do, we spend much of our time in our yard. Here is a sampling of some of our flowers, herbs, and vegetables. We had a bit of a late start with the garden itself but everything seems to be growing quite nicely. Even my marigold seeds took off fast. The lavender has more than tripled in the past few years and I love to make pretty sachets for family and friends come fall. I can't wait to eat the cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers, etc soon enough. Enjoy. - P
