Oregon

I just took a trip to Portland, Oregon with my sister to visit a friend that had just moved out there.  It was my first time out to the Pacific Northwest, and I was not disappointed!  The city and its surroundings are beautiful.  We explored town and also went on several road trips.  We visited the coast, the high plains, and the mountains.  I can't really pick a favorite thing we did or saw, since it was all so breathtaking, but I really enjoyed the coast, the waterfalls, and Mt. Hood. I think in the four and a half days we were there, we experienced every season.  The views were definitely more spectacular than my camera could capture, you have to go there to appreciate the scale of everything.  -A

Cool Morning Bike Ride

Today seemed like the perfect day to start it off with a bike ride and some coffee.  Although the temperatures were in the high 30's this morning, the sun was bright and the air was fresh.  My husband and I took a short ride to get coffee before we started a day of yard work. - P

Paris At Home Weekend #2

We celebrated Paris at home again this past weekend with a new book, "Patisseries of Paris" by Jamie Cahill. It's a cute little book documenting many of the more notable Patisseries in Paris. I didn't see the one we most frequented but it is a helpful little book with so many more I would like to try. I also bought a French Press which I thought made wonderful coffee. Our local grocery store was out of regular croissants so we settled for croissant rolls. :-) We also had a variety of cookies although none were Parisian treats but still yummy. My husband also surprised me with a bottle of Chambord and made me a a Kir Royal which I love and rarely drink at home. I think I will have it more often this winter. - P
